Water well drilling Oklahoma City

Water well drilling Oklahoma City is the job when you need a new domestic well and city water will not reach the land. This page explains the Oklahoma Water Resources Board license, then lists groundwater shops from the public finder. It does not drill the well, quote a price, or book the job.

When the job is a new well

Most Oklahoma City streets are not a drilling job.

A large share of Oklahoma City addresses are on municipal water. A new domestic well is usually for acreage, a rural fringe lot, livestock, or a property that never had a city tap. If the house is on a city line and you have no water, start with the utility — not this roster.

Call a licensed groundwater driller when you need a new borehole, you cannot find the old well, the well will not make water, or you are planning a house that city water will not reach. A pump that died after years of normal use is a different first call. Start with pump repair versus a new well if the well worked last month.

The Oklahoma City mailing-city roster mixes house-well shops with geotechnical firms and agency names. That is how the official finder is written. This page starts you on groundwater rows that look like house-well work. The full, honest list stays on the Oklahoma City location page.

What the company actually does

A drilling company is not a pump-only truck.

A licensed groundwater shop is hired to make or remake the borehole. On a typical domestic job they look at access, drill, set casing, develop the well, and file a well log. Many of the same firms also hold a pump category. That does not make the two jobs the same quote.

Ask what is in the drilling price and what is separate: footage, casing, grout, development, a dry-hole term, the pump, the pressure tank, and the electrical hookup. Write the answers down. This site will not invent a statewide per-foot rate or an arrival window.

They are not the city water department. They are not a septic pumper. A geotechnical row on the same official list is often soil or test work unless the company tells you they also take a drinking-water well. Sister sites Oklahoma Aerobic Guide and Oklahoma Septic Pumping Guide are different trades.

How to pick from the roster

Use the official list. Then verify the land.

Oklahoma licenses well drillers and pump installers through the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. This site republishes that public finder: name, phone, mailing city, and license categories. We do not invent shops, emails, streets, star ratings, or license numbers that the finder does not show.

On the Oklahoma City mailing-city page, only a short set of rows look like house-well work. Three of those carry a groundwater tag. One Oklahoma City card is pumps only. Sixteen more rows are geotechnical, agency, or other licensed names — they stay on the roster because they are on the official finder. Do not treat every Oklahoma City card as a house-well driller.

Shops that list mail in Edmond, Yukon, Norman, Moore, Midwest City, Harrah, Choctaw, or Nicoma Park are nearby licensed shops, not Oklahoma City companies. Confirm they take the job at your land. Check the source on the Water Resources Board finder and read how we check the list.

Compare two or three groundwater shops. Ask the same questions each time. The booking questions guide is the longer checklist. The notes tool on the Oklahoma City job-fit sheet helps you write the land down before you dial.

The company directory is the statewide roster of licensed shops. Use it when you want the full Oklahoma list. Stay on this page when the job is water well drilling Oklahoma City. This guide does not copy that directory and it does not try to be the statewide company list.

Oklahoma Water Resources Board

The license is a category, not a review.

The Oklahoma Water Resources Board licenses commercial well drilling and pump installation so well construction protects groundwater. The public rule is Oklahoma Administrative Code 785:35-3-1. A person who drills, plugs, or reconditions a well for pay in this state, or who installs a water well pump for pay, is supposed to hold a Board license for that activity. This is general information, not legal advice.

The license states the categories on its face. The rule lists five activity groups:

  • Groundwater wells, including test drilling and fresh water observation wells, and plugging those wells. A new house well starts in this group. On this directory the tag is groundwater.
  • Monitoring wells, site assessment wells, and geotechnical borings. That is why soil and test firms share the finder with house-well shops. Ask before you treat that row as a drinking-water driller.
  • Commercial installation of water well pumps. A pumps tag is the pump job. It is not, by itself, a new borehole.
  • Heat exchange wells and geothermal wells.
  • Marginal water wells. The rule says this category also requires groundwater certification for at least two years.

The Board’s license application page also names deep anode groundbeds for cathodic protection, and pump work that includes windmills and solar installations. Those are not the first call for a house well unless the company says they take a private domestic well. The same page says a license applicant needs qualifying experience in the category and a passing score of 70 percent on that exam. We do not publish anyone’s score, and we do not print license numbers. The finder rows we republish show the name, the phone, the mailing city, and the categories.

Each licensed firm must have at least one operator with Board certification. An operator certification by itself is not a firm license, and the operator is not supposed to do work the firm license does not cover. Reconditioning a well for pay counts as commercial drilling under the same rule. A pump that died on a well that still makes water is still a pump conversation first.

The Board’s e-filing policy says a completion or plugging report is due within 60 days after a new well, a plugged well, or a reconditioned well. Ask who files that report and ask for a copy for the house file. The Board also publishes a notice of intent to drill a groundwater well. Confirm what applies to your land when you call. Licenses and operator certifications expire on June 30 on a one- or two-year cycle. Ask the shop to confirm the category you need is current.

A phone area code does not prove or disprove the license. S&S Water Well Drilling LLC lists an Oklahoma City mailing city and a 918 number on the roster checked 2026-08-18. All Out Pump Service And Drilling is published as pumps and groundwater. Grateful Drilling, LLC is published as pumps, geotechnical, and groundwater. Those words are categories, not reviews. Check the source on the Water Resources Board finder. The well-driller program lists its office at 3800 North Classen Boulevard, Oklahoma City, and the public phone 405-530-8800. Read how we check the list.

Featured licensed drillers

These Oklahoma City mailing-city rows carry a groundwater tag and are not labeled agency. Names, phones, and categories match the company pages last checked 2026-08-18. There are no reviews on this page, and no license number is printed because these cards do not carry one. A mailing city is not coverage. Call and confirm they take a new well at your land. This directory does not book the job.

Shady Nook Pump And Supply is an Oklahoma City mailing-city row with a pumps tag only. It is on the full roster. It is not a groundwater drilling starting card.

Water well drilling Oklahoma City: quick answers

Do I need a new well or a pump in the Oklahoma City area?

A well that worked last month and suddenly stopped is often a pump or power problem. A new house without city water, a well you cannot find, or a borehole that no longer makes water is a licensed groundwater drilling conversation. Describe the land and the symptom when you call.

Does an Oklahoma City mailing city mean they drill my lot?

No. The city on the roster is a mailing city from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board finder. It is not a coverage map for every Oklahoma City street or nearby town. Confirm the address when you call.

How much does water well drilling cost in Oklahoma City?

This directory does not set or publish job prices, including per-foot or average-cost ranges. Depth, casing, access, a dry hole, and whether a pump is included change the quote. Ask for a written quote for that land.

Should I call a geotechnical or agency row for a house well?

Usually not first. Many Oklahoma City mailing-city rows are soil, test, or agency names. Start with a groundwater tag that looks like house-well work, then ask if they take a private domestic well. Those other rows stay on the official list; we do not hide them.

Who licenses water well drillers in Oklahoma?

The Oklahoma Water Resources Board. Commercial drilling, plugging, and pump installation need a Board license for that activity. The rule is Oklahoma Administrative Code 785:35. This page is general information, not legal advice.

Which license category is a new house well?

Groundwater. In the rule, that is commercial drilling or plugging of groundwater wells, including test drilling, and fresh water observation wells. A pumps category is the pump. Monitoring wells and geotechnical borings are a different category. Heat exchange and geothermal wells are another. Marginal water wells are another, and that category requires groundwater certification first.

Is operator certification the same as the firm license?

No. The rule says each licensed firm has at least one operator, and an operator certification by itself is not authority to do the work. The operator is limited to what the firm license covers. Ask which firm holds the license for your job.

When is the well log due?

The Board's published e-filing policy says drillers file a completion or plugging report within 60 days after a new well, a plugged well, or a reconditioned well. Ask who files it and ask for a copy for the house. The Board also publishes a notice of intent to drill a groundwater well. Confirm what applies to your land.

Does a 918 number mean the Oklahoma City row is not licensed?

No. The license is the Board record, not the area code. S&S Water Well Drilling LLC lists an Oklahoma City mailing city and a 918 phone on the roster we checked. Call and confirm they take the land. A mailing city still is not coverage.

Should I call the city utility before a driller?

If the house is on a city water line and the tap is dry, start with the utility. Water well drilling Oklahoma City is for land city water will not serve, or for a private well that needs a new borehole. A pump that quit on a working well is a pump call.

Does this site book a driller or rank companies?

No. You call the company. Using the directory never creates a booking. These cards are roster matches. They are not reviews, scores, or a promise the shop is free this week.

Where is the full Oklahoma licensed list?

The company directory is the statewide roster. This guide does not replace it. Use that list when you want every licensed shop. Use this page when the job is water well drilling Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City mailing-city roster, including geotechnical and agency rows, stays on the Oklahoma City location page.
